EN 16484 - Designation of origin for leather production

REACH certification

The EC Regulation No. 197/2006 also called Reach (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization of Chemicals) is a regulation for the registration, evaluation and authorization of all chemical substances and which aims to raise the level of protection both for the environment and for human health.

Reach specifically concerns the manufacture, importation, placing on the market and the correct use of all chemical substances. It concerns not only those substances used in industrial processes but also those of daily use and for this reason most of the companies in the sector are involved. The great novelty represented by Reach is the decree that the responsibility for environmental risks lies directly with the company which must also provide all the guarantees regarding its product.

The reach involves not only producers and importers but indirectly also final consumers and all the bodies that revolve around the chemical substances sector.
